Comprehensive health care services at The Glebe are provided through a one-time entrance fee and monthly service fee. Fees vary depending on your choice of residence, number of occupants, type of service agreement and refund plan. A portion of your entrance fee and monthly service fee may be tax-deductible. (Be sure to consult your tax advisor regarding your individual situation).
We offer two types of service agreement contracts to choose from – Life Care and Fee-for-Service. With either, you’ll have the confidence that comes from knowing you’ll always have access to a full continuum of excellent health care right here on campus – without financial surprises.

Life Care Contract
If health circumstances change, you can move seamlessly between Independent Living, Assisted Living and the Health Care Center, all right here at The Glebe. Life Care allows you to put a plan in place for future care and removes the risk of unexpected and rising health care costs. You’ll have priority access to high-quality services, such as Assisted Living, Rehabilitation Therapy or Skilled Nursing without your monthly fee changing* when your needs do. If you have long-term care insurance, you may use the benefits to offset the cost of higher levels of care, per the terms of your policy.
This provides an enhanced quality of life, financial stability and peace of mind for residents and their families — benefits you can’t put a price on.

Standard Declining Refund Entrance Fee
This plan refunds the entrance fee to the resident or resident’s estate on a declining basis over a 50-month period. The Standard Declining Refund plan is available under both the Life Care and Fee-for-Service plans. The entrance fee, less a 4% administrative charge, is amortized at a rate of 2% per month for the first 50 months of occupancy. After 50 months, residents may continue to receive all the rights and benefits of residency with payment of the ongoing monthly service fees; however, there’s no refund of the entrance fee.
90% Refundable Entrance Fee
This refundable entrance fee plan is available under the Life Care and Fee-for-Service plans. For the first 10 months of residency, the entrance fee is refundable to the resident or resident’s estate, less a 4% administrative charge and a deduction of 1% per month. When the resident is no longer living at The Glebe, the refund is never less than 90% of the original entrance fee, paid upon occupancy less the 4% administrative charge.

Fee-for-Service Contract
With our Fee-for-Service Contract, you’ll pay a one-time entrance fee and monthly service fees for lifetime residency at The Glebe. This includes a choice of an apartment or cottage, as well as community-based services, amenities and activities.
If you require short- or long-term Assisted Living or other health services, you’ll pay additional for those services when the need arises. This plan works well with a long-term care insurance policy, since the higher costs of care in Assisted Living and Health Care may be offset by the policy benefit. You should consult your policy for more details.
Fee-for-Service Entrance Fee
With our Fee-for-Service Contract, residents pay a one-time entrance fee and monthly service fees for lifetime residency at The Glebe. This includes a choice of apartment or cottage, as well as community-based services, amenities and activities.
When residents require short- or long-term Assisted Living or other health services, they pay for those additional services when the need arises. This gives residents the flexibility to use their existing long-term care insurance policies.

LifeSpire of Virginia Transfer Program
- LifeSpire of Virginia has a resident transfer program designed to allow residents to transfer between any LifeSpire of Virginia community.
- As needs change or as friends or family move the LifeSpire of Virginia transfer program enables flexibility in where you live.
