About The Glebe

The Glebe in Daleville, VA, opened its doors in 2005 and is the newest LifeSpire of Virginia retirement community. Today, this faith-based, nonprofit community is home to more than 200 people who continually tell us they moved here for an engaging, fulfilling and active lifestyle. The Glebe is a Life Plan community where excellent service, the spirit of hospitality and well-being, and commitment to exceptional health care are the highest priorities. And with spectacular views of the Allegheny and Blue Ridge mountains, our pastoral 65-acre campus is in one of the most scenic areas of Southwest Virginia.

Our peaceful location is less than 20 minutes from the dynamic city of Roanoke and ranked by Money Magazine as one of the best places in the country to retire. Its scenic splendor invites you to get out and explore. Whether it’s hiking along the Appalachian Trail, cruising across the jewel of Smith Mountain Lake, biking, horseback riding, playing a round of 18, or just relaxing beneath a grand Sweetbay Magnolia, new adventures call every day in one of Southwest Virginia’s most iconic settings.

Security and Peace of Mind

When you move to The Glebe, you’ll enjoy the confidence that comes from knowing you’ll always have access to a full continuum of quality care that continually receives 5-Star ratings from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Residents also have the added security that comes from the generous support of the Virginia Baptist Home (VBH) Foundation.

For nearly 70 years, the VBH Foundation has served a very important mission: to support the work and ministry of LifeSpire of Virginia by raising funds to help our seniors enjoy a loving, welcoming community with quality care, security and peace of mind through their lifetime. This mission – and the spirit of its purpose and message – drives us to continually grow and improve so we can better serve those who need us most.

All of our communities are inclusive and friendly, welcoming people of all faiths, beliefs, and traditions. Our not-for-profit status means our highest commitment is to the people we serve and all resources are invested back into our communities to benefit residents.
