February 3: COVID-19 Update
The Glebe’s leadership team is pleased to report that residents who live in the healthcare neighborhood have been removed from isolation effective immediately. This good news comes as all residents and team members in this area tested negative for the second week in a row.
These residents will not be able to welcome visitors. The area’s high positivity rate is still in the red zone at 13.8% which is down significantly from last week. Once the positivity rates drop below 10%, healthcare residents will be able to have visitors. In the meantime, small group activities will resume with appropriate precautions.
Residents and team members in this area will continue to be retested twice weekly per state mandate. If the positivity rate drops below 10%, testing will only be required once a week.
The Glebe’s third vaccination clinic will be held on February 17. Per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it typically takes a few weeks for the body to build protection against COVID-19. That means it is possible a person could be infected because the vaccine has not had enough time to provide protection. As such, residents and team members are urged to remain vigilant — please continue to wear a mask covering the nose and mouth, practice social distancing and good hand hygiene.
