Carole Edwards and Friends Perform 49th Annual Piano Concerts

Carole Edwards and Friends presented its 49th annual concert at The Glebe on Friday, April 1, and Saturday, April 2, at 2 p.m. This popular piano ensemble began in New York in 1974 where Carole performed professionally with her ensemble for 20 years. Following a move to Virginia, Carole’s concerts continued for 12 years at Smith Mountain Lake. This year marked the 17th annual performance at The Glebe.

The ensemble includes Carole Edwards, Jackie Werb and Shirley Fike, all of whom reside at The Glebe, as well as Deanne Vance and Erica Sipes who reside in Roanoke. During the performances on two grand pianos by four hands, six hands and eight hands, Carole shares details of each piece which include composers Strauss, Joplin, Debussy, Mendelssohn, and others.

A reception followed with a spread of food prepared by The Glebe’s very own professional culinary team.

Each year, the ensemble raises money through donations by attendees for a charity of choice. This year, the group requested consideration of a donation to Tunnels to Towers Foundation which supports injured first responders and veterans, fallen first responder families and gold star families.
