The Glebe Scholarships

August 2022

On August 17, The Glebe and its Resident Council presented resident-sponsored 2022 scholarship awards to three team members to assist in their educational goals.

Faith Overbay, Dietary Assistant, received the Carolyn Harrison Scholarship. Carolyn Harrison was a beloved long-time Glebe resident who donated funds to the resident council upon her death in 2017 for a scholarship. The council continues to honor Carolyn by funding and presenting this award each year.  Faith graduated in May from Lord Botetourt High School with a 4.0 GPA. Her goal is to become a special education teacher with certification as an American Sign Language translator. Faith will be attending Hollins University in the Fall.

Abigayle Lynch, Dining Server, was awarded the Resident Council Employee Education Grant. This annual award is provided to a stellar employee to help further their educational goals.  Abigayle graduated in May from James River High School and will be attending the University of Alabama in the fall. Her goal is to earn a BSN (Bachelor’s Degree in the Science of Nursing), with a specialty in Psychiatrists.

Brennan Corell, Dishwasher, received The Glebe Employee Continuing Education Grant. This award is provided annually by The Glebe as an opportunity for a current team member to continue their education. Brennan has been attending Dabney S. Lancaster Community College, maintaining an A average, and not missing any classes, while continuing to work at The Glebe.

Join us in congratulating these three dedicated team members!

LifeSpire of Virginia, the parent company of The Glebe, along with the Virginia Baptist Homes Foundation, have awarded an additional 18 team members with educational scholarships. More information about the program can be found here
