November 13: COVID-19 Update

The Glebe’s leadership team is pleased to report that all of the results from this week’s ongoing COVID-19 baseline testing in the healthcare neighborhood were once again negative. This twice-weekly testing is required due to Botetourt County’s 18.7% positivity rate.

While all of those tests remain negative, a clinical team member self-reported exposure on November 10 and subsequently tested positive on November 12. This team member tested negative during the routine testing on November 9 and has not been back to work since that result. This team member has been removed from the schedule and is self-quaratining at home.

This positive test result has been reported to the Virginia Department of Health (VDH). Contact tracing revealed that this team member was not in close contact with any residents or fellow team members. However, the leadership team, in consultation with VDH, has decided to quarantine all healthcare residents for 14 days. Again, no other positive cases have been identified.

Routine baseline testing will continue November 16 and 19 for team members in the heathcare area. As a result of positive cases previously reported in the memory support and assisted living areas, team members and residents will be tested on November 16. No additional positive cases have been identified in these areas either.

Out of an abundance of caution, all memory support and assisted living residents continue to isolate at this time. Meals are still being delivered to the resident rooms and visitation to licensed areas remains suspended.

The Glebe’s team continues to urge residents to wear masks, keep a social distance of at least six feet and using proper hand hygiene. Reach out to The Glebe’s team if you have questions or concerns. Stay tuned to https://glebeprd.wpengine.com/blog/covid19/ for the latest updates.
