The Glebe Residents Support Operation Shoebox

Read letters from the Troops

Operation Shoebox was founded in 2003 in an effort to send support, snacks, and much needed personal care items to our troops deployed outside of the USA. Receiving mailings is a huge morale booster for the troops. Recently, the residents held a USO Dance and a part of the event was the collection of items for Operation Shoebox. On July 3, 2004 as a part of The Glebe’s celebration of the 4th of July, a group of residents gathered to pack the items for shipment. Fifty boxes were packed and shipped with notes of support sent along with prayers from the residents.

Residents, many of whom are veterans, are pictured with the boxes for Operation Shoebox just before the boxes were shipped.
