The Glebe/Hollins University Life Long Learning Lecture Series

Please save the dates for The Glebe/Hollins University Life Long Learning Program 2008 Lecture Series. The Series begins with the return of Dr. Peter Coogan, Associate Professor of History at Hollins University. His topic for his lecture is “Myths of the Second World War”. A preview of the lecture includes questions to be addressed such as, “Did the U.S. know about the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor? Who defeated the German Army? Was Douglas MacArthur a great general? With more than 40 veterans among the residents of The Glebe as well as other veterans from the local area, this is sure to be a lively discussion. In fact, following his presentation last year, Dr. Coogan commented that he was stimulated by the comments from the audience whose life experiences paralleled with the events in history that are the focus of much of his research.

The public is invited to attend the lecture series to be held at The Glebe, 200 The Glebe Boulevard, Daleville, VA 23084. To RSVP for the Lecture(s), call Dreama at 540/591-2200.
