11:00 am - 1:00 pm
200 The Glebe Boulevard
Daleville, Virginia 24083
Join us at The Glebe to learn from Roanoke’s very own Beverly “Bev” Fitzpatrick as he shares the history of “The Spirit of Roanoke,” the last of the remarkable locomotives built by Norfolk and Western Railroad. As the Executive Director of the Virginia Museum of Transportation, Bev was intimately involved with the restoration of the train, one of only 14 built, and the only one in existence today.
Named a National Engineering Landmark by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, “The Spirit of Roanoke” has a fascinating story and is a favorite part of Roanoke history. While you’re here, enjoy a delicious lunch, take a tour and learn more about one of Roanoke Valley’s premier retirement communities.
This event is fully booked.
