“Carole Edwards and Friends,” the longest running piano ensemble in the country, will present its 43rd anniversary concerts at The Glebe as part of the Music in the Mountains series. This popular piano ensemble began in New York in 1974 where Carole performed professionally with her ensemble for 20 years. Following a move to Virginia, Carole’s concerts continued for 12 years at Smith Mountain Lake and now are in their 11th year at The Glebe.
The ensemble includes Carole, Jackie Werb and Joy McNabb, all of whom reside at The Glebe, as well as Deanne Vance and Erica Sipes, who reside in Roanoke. During the performances on two grand pianos by four hands, six hands and eight hands, Carole shares details of each piece. This year’s eclectic program will feature selections by Bizet, Liszt, Joplin, Sousa, Milhaud, Khachaturian and other composers.
The ensemble has requested your consideration of a donation to support the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life while enjoying the reception, which follows both concerts.
