It’s always the peak season of wellness at The Glebe. With the beautiful Johnson Aquatic Center offering indoor, poolside mountain views, residents have the chance to get active and discover the benefits of aquatic programs and classes year-round. Dive in and discover the seven dimensions of wellness at The Glebe.
Our community focuses on not only physical wellness, but social, emotional, spiritual, environmental, occupational, and intellectual wellness as well. Through our multidimensional programs and new partner, The National Institute for Fitness and Sport (NIFS), we have created an outstanding program that residents love. See how The Glebe encourages every aspect of total wellness:
At The Glebe we encourage residents to have a healthy, optimistic approach to life. This January, our New Year’s Resolution Workshop will focus on setting positive goals that stick. Setting goals are a great way to be mindful about doing the things that bring happiness and improvement to ourselves and others.
Exercise and movement not only energize the body but can bring peace to the mind. The Glebe offers classes such as Mindful Movements and Yoga that focus on movement, breathing, and rhythm to nourish the mind, body, and spirit.
At The Glebe, we encourage residents to spend time enjoying the beautiful scenery and nature surrounding The Glebe. Even in the winter months, residents can always enjoy an expansive view of the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains.
We believe in doing what you love, especially in retirement. The Glebe offers speaker events, workshops, and classes that encourage residents to explore their passions and discover new ones.
Exercising the mind is just as important as physical exercise. At The Glebe, residents can stay sharp through classes and social activities — we also offer the popular Glebe Scholar program, which provides residents with opportunities to participate in community engagement through lecture and discourse.
Our Wellness Center offers a variety of fun ways to stay fit and active. Coming up, the center will host a day where residents can come in for a physical assessment. From the assessment our highly trained team will offer individual fitness and workout prescriptions.
Also, our newly formed Arthritis Water Workout class is now in session every Friday, where residents who suffer from joint pain can improve mobility and range of motion.
The Glebe has a bustling social atmosphere, where there’s always fun to be had with friends. Coming up in February we will be hosting our Indoor Recreation Challenge. It’s easy to stay inside during the cold months, so we’ve got some fun recreational events to help beat the winter slump. Residents can earn rewards and prizes by attending events such as line dancing, Wii bowling, bocce ball, ping pong, and corn hole.
We’re proud to have created a multidimensional wellness program that residents love. Stay tuned for more on our upcoming events and programs, and be sure to check out our Winter Wellness Schedule, which is full of fun classes and special events.
